In 2008, Meredith Steele left behind a career in graphic design to be a stay-at-home mom for her daughter Mia.
Being out of the artistic world, for someone as creative as Meredith, was just too tough. She missed her artistic outlet. So, what did she do that would allow her time for her duties as a mom, but still put her talents to work? She started a blog, In Sock Monkey Slippers.
Throw on your slippers – sit back and relax. In Sock Monkey Slippers is part mom blog, part food blog and random thoughts and things in between. It’s full of tantalizing features, family recipes, truckloads of stories, mountains of baby food, and plenty of product reviews to sink your teeth into! It’s the-day-to- day life of a mama in her sock monkey slippers.
While the site began as a personal pursuit to chronicle her new life as a mom, it wasn’t long before Meredith’s musings captured an audience on the web.
A seasoned photographer, talented writer and magician in the kitchen, Meredith shot, wrote and cooked her way into the lives of thousands loyal visitors.
[I’m an] ex-designer turned pro-diaper changer, head chef and baby food maker. Stay-at-home mom extraordinaire and mom to Mia and wife to “the husband.” I’m a A Texas native and lover of music, art, food, the outdoors and anything to do with my family. My favorite escape is getting lost at our family ranch, the 308, in the Texas Hill Country and belting out Ramones tunes while no one is looking.
